Dishcloths are one of my favorite things to knit. We use them all the time in my house for coasters, cleaning dishes, cleaning countertops, wiping up spills, and resting our tea and coffee spoons on.
“Holiday Knit Dishcloths” includes 11 designs for bringing some holiday spirit to your home. There are patterns for Valentine’s Day, St. Patricks Day, Easter, Independence Day, and Halloween. It being so close to Christmas, I made the three Christmas themed dishcloths. The tree came out quite lovely!
One of the things I love about this book is it includes a chart as well as a written pattern. Since I knit left handed, this is particularly helpful, especially when knitting designs that are not mirrored, like this Santa Clause. He’s a jolly ol’ guy!
The snowman is a little hard to see on the white. Still cute though!
Not only are knitted dishcloths useful, they also add a touch of holiday cheer to your kitchen. Use those handy 3M hooks to hang your dishcloths anywhere. Using a cotton (or mostly cotton) yarn will ensure your dishcloth will be absorbent and will hold up to the wear and tear of everyday use. When you’re done, simply toss them in the washing machine and dryer. Easy peasy!
