Free crochet pattern with chart – “Simple Squares” Headband
|Free Crochet Pattern – Simple Squares Headband
Sometimes when I’m working on a pattern the design has to be frogged (ripped out), restarted, reworked, rethought. And once it a while, it just comes easy and I get it down in one “take”. That’s what happened with this headband. Sure, it’s nice to get all fancy shmanchy. But sometimes, it’s best to keep it simple. The “Simple Squares” headband is an easy project for a beginner, or a quick-to-whip-up project for a seasoned crocheter. Would make a super last minute gift since it works up so quick. It’s the perfect base for adding appliques or flowers, too, so it’s easy to add some flair and really make it your own style. If you are looking for even more quick and easy cranium accessories, my Simple Sunday is also a lovely free crochet headband pattern.
It’s summer here in New England, so I used a cotton yarn for a comfortable and breathable headband. My daughter kept hers on all day today, so you know it’s comfortable! You could use a regular acrylic yarn and your headband would still come out lovely.
There is a written pattern, and if you scroll past the pattern you’ll find a crochet chart as well, for all the visual learners out there!
If you are on Ravelry, I’d love to see pictures of your finished headbands! You can add the project to your queue here: Free Crochet Pattern – Simple Squares Headband
