“Madonna” Inspired Wristers – Free Crochet Pattern

I have an affinity towards neon…I can’t help it, being a child of the 80’s. Ah, the 80’s…when MTV actually played music videos. Before there was Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears, there was Madonna. She was a cultural icon, both in music and in fashion. These wristers were inspired by her. She would’ve liked them in black, but everyone needs a little color in their life.

Madonna Wristers – Free Crochet Pattern

WW Yarn
G Hook

1. Ch even number to fit around
widest part of wrist/hand.
(34 ch should fit most)
Join to first ch w/ sl st to form ring
(careful not to twist)
Ch 1 (does not count as st)
Sc in same st and each st around
Join to first sc w/ sl st

2. Ch 1 (does not count as st)
Sc in same st and each st around
Join to first sc w/ sl st

3. Ch 3 (counts as dc, ch 1)
Sk 1 st and dc in next
Ch 1
* Sk 1 st and dc in next, ch 1 *
Repeat from * to * around
Join to ch-2 w/ sl st

4-8. Repeat round 2 five times

9. Ch 3 (counts as dc, ch 1)
Sk 1 st, dc in next
* Ch 1, sk 1 st, dc in next *
Repeat from * to * around
until 5 st remain
Ch 5, Join to ch-2 w/ sl st

10. Ch 3 (counts as dc, ch 1)
* Sk 1 st, and dc in next, ch 1 *
Repeat from * to * around
Join to ch-2 w/ sl st

11-12 Repeat round 9 twice

13. Ch 1 (does not count as st)
Sc in same st and each st around
Join to first sc w/ sl st

14. Repeat round 13.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Thumb (Optional):
1. With RS facing,
Join yarn to bottom right
st of thumbhole (ch-1 sp) w/ sl st

Ch 1 (does not count as st)
1 sc in same st an next 4 st
2 sc up side of dc
5 sc across top of thumbhole
2 dc down side of dc
Join to first sc w/ sl st

2. Ch 1, sc in same st and
each st around.
Join to first sc w/ sl st.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
