Free Crochet Pattern – The “Little Lady” Baby to Toddler Hat
|Free Crochet Pattern – Little Lady Baby to Toddler Hat
We’re about to get another foot of snow dumped on us, in addition to the 2+ feet already on the ground. I feel like I’m living in some sort of marshmallow dream land. Or Alaska.
To stave off the winter blah’s I thought I’d create something “spring-y”. The “Little Lady” hat is an open weave hat with a pretty, lacy effect, using only DC’s and chains. Reminds me a bit of a flapper cap. Of course you could make this hat for a young lad, but instead of using a shell brim, use a row of double crochet to finish it off with boy-ish touch.
The hat itself is fairly simple, and lends itself perfectly to adding a little embellishment, be it a flower or some other applique. I used Maz Kwok’s pattern for the flower, a small daisy. That pattern can be found here: Crochet Pattern Daisy Applique
Hope you have fun making it, and I’d love to see your finished works. If you are on ravelry especially! You can add the project to your Ravelry queue here: Free Crochet Pattern, Little Lady Hat.
Happy hooking!

NOTES: Hat is meant to be just a tad long, and brim can be folded up. If you would like more of a “beanie” style, omit rounds 12 and 13, but DO continue on to round 14 for the brim.
Worked from the top down in the round, no turning.
