Free Crochet Pattern – “The Nikki Wristers” Fingerless Gloves
|Free Crochet Pattern – Nikki Wristers Fingerless Gloves
It’s snowing again here in New England, and the groundhog says six more weeks of winter are in order. So here’s a little something for keeping the hands toasty.
Wrist warmers were the first thing I learned how to crochet and they are still my favorite thing to make (and wear). They work up quickly, are good for using up scrap yarn, and they’re just plain fun!
These wrist warmers I designed and made for my cousin Nikki for Christmas, thus, I have named them the “Nikki Wristers”. They can be made all in one color but I think changing up colors really makes them pop. I used just 2 colors, but 4 would be fun too – one for each “section.”
I instruct you to do a CH 2 at the beginning of each round to represent the DC. I realize most patterns use a CH 3 for the DC but I feel this leaves too large a gap. Even better than chaining 2 or 3, is a standing DC stitch. If you know how to do that, by all means, do it! If not, a CH 2 will work just fine.
Different people have different ways of joining new colors, so I’m not instructing you HOW to change colors, just when to do it.
Have fun with it!
