Crochet Hook Pouch – Free Crochet Pattern
|Crochet Hook Pouch – Free Crochet Pattern
Earlier this week I released a video tutorial for single crochet, and for all those who have mastered the single crochet and want to move on to an actual pattern and make something, this is for you! This pouch is worked in ALL single crochets (oh and a few slip stitches), so it is really, really easy. You do NOT need to know how to work in the round for this pouch, it is worked in rows as a flat piece. Then you’ll fold your rectangle and single crochet up the sides to “seam” your pouch together.
This crochet pouch can easily be made shorter to turn it into a small bag for little items you don’t want getting lost in the depth of your big purse. As is, this cute little button bag is the perfect size for crochet hooks, double pointed knitting needles, pencils, markers, reading glasses, small paintbrushes…basically anything long and skinny. Use any worsted weight yarn you like. Cotton is sturdy and washes well. A self striping yarn will give you a variety of pretty colors without having to change yarn. For the curious, I used Lion Brand Landscape in colorway “Boardwalk”.
I’ve included some images to help you understand how to fold the rectangle and seam it together. A picture is worth 1000 words, they say! Sewing on the button, you’re on your own for that. Sewing is not my forte, but I manage. Use sewing or upholstery thread and a “regular” size sewing needle and get it on there any way you can (just make sure it matches up to the button hole).

Aweee… super cute and easy! Thanks for the free pattern and tutorial. I can think of a few uses for these other than just hooks. Thanks again!
Oops, forgot to ask.. the photo of the completed hook case, did you use unforgettable yarn or lion brand landscapes? Looks familiar but I love the color way and how it worked up and would like to create a similar look. Thanks!
Good eye! Yes, I used Lion bran Landscapes, I believe the colorway is called “boardwalk”. Works up really pretty!
Lol, love the way that colorway works up. I happen to have a yarn hoard in my craft room so I have this in stock Haha! Thank you!
I hear you on the yarn hoard. Lol! Happy hooking!
